History Regata Chiloé

It was in the year 1989 when 53 crafts achieved a milestone in the history of the sail. For the first time, such a numerous fleet moves towards a place for a competition: Regata oh Chiloé.

After three years, one organized the second version, but this time they were 123 the crafts participants. From this moment, every two years Chiloé it is visited for saliers eager to show his skills.

In his first version, the yachts sailed seven days along the channels of the archipélago, being crowned champion " Ghost the IInd ", led by Fernando Boher. In February, 1992, for the second version of the Regata of Chiloé, the competition awarded the "South" sailboat guided by Paul Amunátegui.

In the year 2006 the ninth version was realized, with 68 sailboats in competition, and more than 599 crew members. In this competition it was the yacht " Pisco Sour ", led by Emilio Cousiño and Bernardo Matte, which imposed himself for on other ships. In the year 2008, the yacht " Pisco Sour ", bicampeón of Chiloé and leader in the Entel cup PCS up to this moment, sank while it was moving towards the south of the country.

In January, 2010 the undécima realized version, possessing 68 crafts, 10 of them representing to the Navy of Chile. In this competition it was "Trafalgar" who imposed himself seize winner, in Nicolás Ibánez's hands, led by Homero Novoa and guided by Manuel Gonzalez Mas, representatives of the Naval School Arturo Prat.
